Sattelbauer - Lackenkogel (Flachau)

Hike Description: 

From the Sattelbauer, southwards into the forest and uphill along path No.2 (blue markings) to a forestry road. Either continue on this road (somewhat longer) or head up a wide, but steeper footpath. In this case, you will actually cross the road another two times, finally following it to the Lackenalm.

Then into an alpine gap, followed by a trail to the left leading over a sparsely forested ridge line - a little arduous and steep - and finally, on the west flank of the mountain, to a saddle south of the Lackenkogel. Here make a left again and via the generally exposed south ridge to the summit, which is crowned with a cross.
The hike down retraces the ascent. A hike accompanied by imposing scenery, including pleasant refreshment opportunities at the Lackenalmen as well as Berggasthof Sattelbauer.

Alternatively, you can also hike up from Altenmarkt, in which case you should plan in an additional 2.5 hours on trail.
