Family Hike around the Rittisberg - Ramsau

Tour: Type: easy family hike, mostly on high-quality forest paths or hiking trails - many tour options possible.
Time on Trail: 3 to 4 hours depending on variant.

The Rittisberg extends out across the western area of the Ramsau high plateau, directly below the imposing south walls of the Dachstein. A true mountain of adventure, especially for families with children. The starting point is "Ramsau Beach" fun park. From the Rittisstadl, the Panorama Path leads you to the highest point - the newly erected summit cross and the viewing platform at 1582m. Continuing out to the Ochsenalm, you are treated to beautiful views of the pale, limestone south face of the Dachstein. From this point along a beautiful, wide forest path to the Sonnenalm.

This is a children-friendly refreshment stop with a new Nature & Hunting Path, a beautiful sunny terrace and the "Singing Innkeeper", Gerhard. During the last hour, you hike gently downhill and circle the Rittisberg, until you again have the bizarre rock faces of the Dachstein before your eyes. Finally, whilst on the forest's edge of the Rittisberg, you also pass by Waldcafe Liftstüberl.

As a special "reward" for the youngest hikers, we would recommend a ride on the "Rittisberg Coaster" (an alpine slide).
